St. Augustine, Jacksonville, and Fernandina Fishing Charters

HCO Fishing Experiences

Between St. Augustine and Fernandina Beach you’ve got two very different worlds of fishing.
Inside the marsh, it’s redfish sliding through spartina, tide-driven creeks, and quiet flats that demand attention. Just outside the inlet, conditions open up into nearshore and offshore waters where structure, bait, and timing shape the day.

We fish both—whatever the coast is giving you.

The inshore waters along there Historic Coast are shaped by tide and time. Shallow grass flats, winding creeks, and flooded spartina create the kind of environment where redfish push through inches of water and bait moves with every change in the tide.
We guide skiff and bay boat trips built around these conditions—targeting redfish, speckled trout, flounder, and seasonal tarpon when they move through. Trips accommodate 1–4 anglers and are tailored to the water that day.

This is tide-driven fly fishing. Winter and spring bring low water and clear backcountry creeks where redfish slide along mud edges and structure. Summer and fall shift to flood tides—fish pushing into spartina grass, tailing in inches of water, and moving with the rise.
We guide technical skiff trips for 1–2 anglers, always chasing the right water.

Fall flood tides turn the marsh into something different. Redfish tail in flooded spartina grass while marsh hens (king & clapper rails) move through the edges of the creeks.
We follow the water—splitting time between fishing and hunting depending on the tide and the day. No two trips run the same.

Offshore from the Historic Coast, the nearshore and deepwater structure holds a world-class fishery for kingfish and wahoo, along with seasonal snapper, grouper, mahi, cobia depending on conditions.
These are longer runs and full-day trips—built for anglers ready to spend 10+ hours on the water, covering distance and fishing changing structure or trolling hroughout the day.

At Historic Coast Outfitters, we’re just excited to share this place with you.
Whether we’re fishing the marsh or running offshore, every trip is about time on the water, good company, and making it an experience worth remembering—not just for what’s caught, but for the day itself.
We look forward to having you out here.
